Temple Grandin and Roy Rogers lay it out.

I love her. I love her. I love her. I love her.
Listen to what Temple Grandin says about Mark Zuckerberg, reality TV, teaching our kids the "rules" for life, and being kind to others. (see link )
In less than 5 minutes she lays it out. That's the power of Autism, baby. I love her.

The 50s WERE black and white in a lot of ways. Lots of the roles and expectations were defined and clear for a family and it's members. This makes it easier to learn.
--Not that the progression of our society since then has been a bad thing, but it has become more complex, which makes it difficult for all of us, not  just people with social disorders, to determine what our place is and what "rules" to follow....
I know I get confused at times. My primary roles in society: Mom, wife, advocate, worker, volunteer, therapist, caregiver, professional, homemaker, daughter, sister, friend. Want to be a responsible, respected person in the workplace, caring and present mom at home, supercool friend and knockout wife. Too many lines crossing to track effectively for me, much less my kids.
